Impeller trimming is the reduction of the impeller diameter of a centrifugal pump with the aim of adapting the operating point to the specifications.

The duty point of the system is the required operating point determined by means of a design calculation (theoretical value).

The side channel pump is a special design of a centrifugal pump, which is often regarded as a mixture of centrifugal and positive displacement pump.

In multistage centrifugal pumps, the delivery head of the pump is increased by connecting several impellers in series.

High-pressure centrifugal pumps are generally multistage centrifugal pumps, where the pump head is increased by connecting the impellers in series.
