VSX - VOGEL SOFTWARE is a specialist in software and internet solutions for the pump and valve industry and market leader in the field of pump selection software. Our customers include the world’s largest pump manufacturers, global players in the chemical industry as well as many small and medium-sized companies.
To support our software development department for complex technical applications, we are looking for Software Developer Web Applications (m/f/d).
What does our product portfolio look like?
Our best-known product is Spaix® - a selection and configuration solution for centrifugal pumps. In addition, we run the impeller.net internet portal. Further components include a calculation software for friction loss as well as solutions for mixers, valves and fittings.
Our products can run locally or via network installation on computers, or as web application in a browser. They are also available as web service.
What are your responsibilities?
You will help develop the new generation of our well-established product lines. You will have the chance to support the new product generation from the very beginning, starting with architecture, through development, up to the market launch, ensuring that thousands of users in Europe and worldwide enjoy using your product.
Besides the software development itself, your responsibilities will include the documentation of your work and the occasional assistance to our support team as part of the second level support.
Which programming languages do we speak?
Good question! At some point, it is necessary to encode our great solutions in a programming language. For this, we prefer C# and Delphi, in web environments, of course HTML/CSS/JS. Additionally, we use several libraries and frameworks, databases and other helpful tools.
Nevertheless, you can and should apply if you are able to use C++, Java, PHP or another imperative programming language and if you are keen to learn something new. Don’t worry, we will sort it out!
When it comes to language: We speak either English or German with our customers. Fluent written and spoken German and/or English language skills are thus essential.
Who are we looking for?
Matching our interesting and broad field of activity, you are (ideally) a full-stack developer with (preferably) an extensive basic knowledge. Furthermore, you have acquired a solid and reliable know-how in selected areas and technologies you are particularly interested in.
But you are also welcome to join us as a career starter. Our experienced colleagues will be happy to assist you with advice and practical support. Our library and the wide range of current developer magazines are also at your disposal.
Whether an expert or a young professional, you are well informed when it comes to the latest developments in the IT-area. You are interested in the new and proven technologies, frameworks, tools and paradigms, you are always curious and keep your knowledge up-to-date. You use your skills to improve our products, optimize algorithms, modernize architecture and to automate recurring processes.
It is an advantage if you also have some technical understanding of mechanical engineering issues.
Which skills and degrees should you have?
Ideally, you have a degree in computer science, engineering or natural science and have a good technical understanding.
To develop sophisticated and high-quality software solutions, a broad variety of skills is required. Of course, you do not have to cover the whole range, but you should be able to enrich our team with at least one of the skills below – the more the better!
- System programming with Windows
