GEA Jet Pumps GmbH has a new managing director

On 01.07.00, Dr. Christopher Braun took over the position of managing director of the engineering company GEA Jet Pumps GmbH in Ettlingen/Germany.

Dr. Braun started his career as managing partner of the engineering company BCR GmbH Bochum after receiving his doctorate from the Ruhr University in Bochum in 1990. In 1995 he joined Hürner Umwelttechnik GmbH as technical director and took over the position of managing director in 1996. Jörg Trefzer, who was temporary managing director of GEA Jet Pumps for one year, resumes his position as manager of the division single jet pumps and gas scrubbers.

ABS: Continued high demand for water and wastewater products

Solid growth in sales, particularly in the largest segment, water and wastewater. Lower margins for products to the process industry.

Invoiced sales for the first half of 2000 increased to MSEK 1211 (last year MSEK 1165) This corresponds to an increase of 3% adjusted for currency fluctuations and acquisitions. The increase was good in the water and wastewater segment which accounts for more than half of ABS sales. Deliveries to the process industry were at the same level as last year, whereas shipments to the building and construction area increased only thanks to the acquisition of CH&E in the US.

Flowserve Completes Acquisition of IDP

DALLAS – Flowserve Corp. (NYSE: FLS) today announced the completion of its acquisition of Ingersoll-Dresser Pump Co. from Ingersoll-Rand.

The $775 million acquisition creates the world’s largest pump company serving the petroleum, chemical and power industries and the second largest pump company overall.

Goulds Pumps Introduces Close-Coupled, Chemical Process Pump. New pump minimizes life cycle costs in process applications.

Seneca Falls, NY – Goulds Pumps, one of the fluid businesses of ITT Industries, has introduced the new Vogel ICB close-coupled chemical process pump. The ICB Series is an extension to the IC series ISO 5199 frame mounted chemical pump series. These new pumps provide a compact and economical pumping solution ideal for OEM applications and confined spaces in industrial processes. The ICB range includes 25 pump sizes, which are capable of flows up to 450 m3/h (1980 GPM) and heads up to 150m (492 feet). ICB pumps are suitable for service temperatures ranging from –40°C to 140°C (-40°F to 284°F) and operating pressures up to 16 bar (230 psi).
