PARSIPPANY, NJ, August 28, 2001 – A newly revised 1,800 page pump handbook, which brings together the resources of international experts of the pump industry, has been published by McGraw-Hill and is available through the Hydraulic Institute (HI). The job critical guide assists anyone involved with pumps to design, specify, purchase, operate, and maintain all pump types. The Pump Handbook, third edition covers every topic from advanced seals to basic paradigms. It is edited by industry veterans Joseph P. Messina, Paul Cooper, Charles C. Heald, and the late Igor Karassik.

Water reuse expert Professor Takashi Asano of the University of California at Davis (UCD), USA, will receive the 2001 Stockholm Water Prize from HM King Carl XVI Gustaf during a ceremony in the Stockholm City Hall on August 16, 16.30.

Mr. Leonid Korovin from St. Petersburg, Russia, is being awarded the Swedish Baltic Sea Water Award 2001. Korovin, who is being given the award for his commitment to improving the water environment of the Baltic Sea, will be honored by Swedish Trade Minister Leif Pagrotsky during the closing session of the 11th Stockholm Water Symposium on August 16 in the Stockholm City Conference Centre/Folkets Hus.
