The new planning software CD from Wilo GmbH, Dortmund, has now been issued in 60,000 copies. The heart of the CD is the pump selection program Wilo-Select Classic, a comprehensive software package for professional calculating, planning, layout and documentation of pumps and pumping systems. This complete, new software development continues in the successful tradition of the Wilo layout systems.

The oldest existing building at the Cologne Zoo is the Elephant House, a Moorish design constructed in 1863. In order to respond to the latest knowledge of the needs of these animals, an architecture competition was announced in 1999 which has resulted in a project to erect a new Elephant House. The layout of the pumping systems for water drainage in the facility was conceived by ACO Passavant Gebäudeentwässerung GmbH (Phillipsthal). To determine the various duty points (head and capacity) and to select the appropriate pumps, Spaix® PipeCalc and Spaix® Classic pipe calculation software from VSX – VOGEL SOFTWARE was employed.

Selwood, the national plant and pump hire company, has introduced 220 gallon/1000 litre capacity bowsers into its fleet.

Carver Pump introduced its new GH Series of horizontal, end suction pumps. Available in frame mounted (GHF) and close coupled (GHC) configurations, the GH’s are designed for pumping water, chemicals, and oil in both general service and process industry applications.

At Cardo AB’s annual general meeting today, the following members of the board were re-elected: Tuve Johannesson, Fredrik Lundberg, Lennart Nilsson, Bengt Pettersson, Anders Rydin and Kjell Svensson. In addition, Berthold Lindqvist was elected as a new member of the board.

Price has assumed the sales and distribution of their range of air-operated diaphragm pumps for the European Market. Prior to this, ITT Jabsco UK was acting as their master distributor.
