Christina Künzle appointed Head of Corporate Development at Sulzer

As of July 2002, Corporate Development at Sulzer will be headed by Christina Künzle, who is also appointed to the Executive Committee. Aged 46, she holds an MBA (INSEAD) and succeeds Patrick Kilchmann. Christina Künzle is currently managing director of Coutts Consulting (Switzerland and Germany), a specialized human resources consulting company. In July, she will start getting to know her new position, and depending on the transition at her present company, she will start at Sulzer fulltime in the fall.

SULZER TO BUILDS WORLD’S HIGHEST PRESSURE SEAWATER

Sulzer Pumps has built a prototype injection pump that generates the highest seawater injection pressure ever achieved. The contract was awarded by bp for the ‘Thunder Horse’ project, which is part of the bp Deepwater Development Program in the Gulf of Mexico. The water will be injected at a flow rate of 338 cubic meters an hour (1458 US gpm) at a pressure of 605 bar (8515 psi).

NEW WILO PUMPS IMPROVE SOLAR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

Wilo Salmson is launching two new pumps for solar heating systems, the Wilo-Star ST 15 and Wilo-Star ST 25. Designed for LowFlow and HighFlow solar heating systems respectively, the new pumps are being launched in the UK following proven success in Germany, where they are employed in both domestic and commercial applications.

IFAT 2002: Exhibitor Numbers Set New Record

IFAT 2002 is poised to set another new record in exhibitor numbers: over 2,040 exhibitors from 40 countries will be attending this year´s event (for comparison, at the 1999 fair in Munich, the figure was 2,021 exhibitors from 33 countries). One quarter of the exhibiting companies (25 percent) comes from abroad.
