Wilo-Salmson, Europe’s leading manufacturer of pumps and pumping systems, has unveiled a range of ‘stealth’ pumps that are up to 20dB(A) quieter than pumps with traditional fan-ventilated motors. The latest centrifugal multistage pumps are ideal for boosting water in buildings where noise may be an issue; typical examples include hotels, libraries, museums, theatres and other public areas.

ABS in China has delivered wastewater pumps and a large number of mixers for a new wastewater plant in Nan jing, the old capital of China. The city of Nan jing is upgrading its wastewater system by building a new plant.

BOC Edwards, a leading provider of vacuum pumps, exhaust management systems and specialty gases for the microelectronics industry, has announced a seven-year contract with United Solar Systems Corporation (USSC) to provide bulk atmospheric gas systems, gas cabinets, process gases and on-site service support for USSC’s solar cell manufacturing facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Having seen through the successful integration of the Werner & Pfleiderer, Waeschle and Buss company groups under the umbrella of Coperion, Dr. Hans-Jörg Pfeiffer, President of the Executive Board of Coperion Holding GmbH, Konstanz (Germany) and Head of the Georg Fischer Corporation’s Plant Engineering Group, will retire at the end of August on reaching the age of 64. Hans-Jörg Pfeiffer has declared his willingness to put his industrial experience at the disposal of Coperion and Georg Fischer as an external consultant.

At the end of July this year, 20 Flygt heavy duty submersible propeller pumps will go into operation in the Grand Canal and the Rio Hondo River as part of Mexico City’s improved wastewater pumping system. The total value for the order, which consists of pumps, discharge columns, spare parts and onsite verification tests, is over USD 3.5 million.
