ITT Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ITT) announced that it has acquired Flowtronex PSI Inc., a leading global manufacturer of modular pumping systems for golf courses and other turf irrigation, sports fields, municipal and commercial properties.

ITT A-C Pump (formerly Allis Chalmers Pump Company) offers the broadest line of single stage, double suction pumps available. Recently named “most preferred” double suction, splitcase pump by pump purchasers in the water / wastewater industry, these pumps are designed for a wide range of municipal and industrial applications, including high flow, low lift, raw water and wastewater.

Flowserve Corp. reported net income of 17 cents a share in the third quarter of 2002, compared with 15 cents a share in the year ago quarter. Excluding special items, net income was 31 cents a share in the third quarter of 2002, in line with the company’s recent guidance, compared with 38 cents in the prior year period.

Order intake by the Sulzer Corporation for the first nine months 2002 totalled CHF 1463 million (–6% compared with prior year, +1% adjusted for acquisitions, divestitures and currency effects). Order intake by the core divisions was CHF 1425 million, 3% below prior year level (adjusted: +1%).
