Since its inception, the Pumps & Systems Asia exhibition has garnered a reputation for being the most reputable pumps event in Asia. It has since grown to be Asia’s largest pumps and systems show and it is the top two event of its kind in the world.

The Danish Industrial Association’s Product Prize 2002 was awarded to Grundfos on 26 September for its water supply pump SQFlex, which may be driven by solar cells or windmills or a combination of both of these renewable energy sources. An “outstanding” and “ground-breaking” product said the chairman of the Danish Industrial Association, Managing Director Johan Schroeder.

The new “Pump Expert S” from KSB Aktiengesellschaft, Frankenthal, is a fully independent measurement data evaluation system. It serves as a bus coupler to ensure local connection of the control station with a field bus, and analyses different measured variables by means of an integrated expert system.

With the deployment of about 60 submersible motor pumps and free service, KSB is supporting emergency teams in the South-East of France to eradicate flood damage. Yesterday, the first pumping sets went into operation in the Provence towns of Alès, Aramon and Bagnols-sur-Cèze.

ABS in China has delivered a number of wastewater pumps to the new proving ground at the Shanghai Volkswagen plant. China and Germany own this car-making joint venture equally. The Shanghai Volkswagen plant has an annual capacity of 300.000 cars and employs more than 10.000 people.

Today, the Grundfos Student Prize was awarded to French science student Manuel Martin, Institut des Sciences et Technique de Grenoble – Université Joseph Fourier.
