A midstream oil and gas company in the mid-western United States was using conventional packed plunger pumps to pump Natural Gas Liquids (NGLís). These required frequent adjustment and replacement of the packing and further attention to plunger and stuffing box wear that proved costly and time-consuming.
Since packing is designed to leak, the plunger pumps also presented housekeeping and environmental problems. After a consultation to assess the situation, the recommendation was to install two Hydra-Cell Q155 pumps as an alternative.
With its seal-less design, the Hydra-Cell Q155 has no packing to leak, wear, or replace. There is no leak path, so housekeeping and environmental problems are avoided. After nearly one year of operation, the midstream oil and gas company reports outstanding performance and reduced costs with Hydra-Cell.
