Sulzer Pumps Finland Oy received an order of 250 pumps and agitators by the German based Zellstoff Stendal GmbH for a new greenfield pulp mill.

Carver Pump has been awarded a two multi-million dollar contracts by Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, Newport News Operations, for the final design and development of certain pumps relating to the CVNX project.

Flowserve Pump Division has announced it has been awarded an order by Thailandís Royal Irrigation Department for the Pasak River Dam project. The order for six vertical mixed flow pumps is valued at US $792,000 and will be delivered by December 2002.

The Italian pump manufacturer Caprari has received the order to deliver electric pumps for the Wastewater Treatment Plant of Milan including a 12-year service contract.

SGL Carbon recently won a contract to deliver a complete hydrochloric acid synthesis unit as well as 42 high-performance graphite pumps for the Australian Magnesium Operations (AMO), one of the world’s largest magnesium producers.

A contract, worth more than 11 million Euros, was recently signed between the pump manufacturer, Sulzer and Russia’s second largest oil company, Yukos. It is for modernizing 90 water injection pumps, operated by the Yukos owned oil company, Yuganskneftegas.

Sulzer Pumps is supplying both the booster and main pipeline pumps for Fujairah Water and Power Project (Pipelines) in the United Arab Emirates. The multi million dollar contract consists of 4 Booster Pumps type SMN(H) 602-900 and 4 Main Pumps type HPDM 600-900-s+s/30. Stage 1 of the water transport system will be put into operation in the summer of 2003.

Eaton Corporation announced that its aerospace business was selected by Air France to supply engine-driven hydraulic pumps and AC motor pumps for its new fleet of 13 Boeing 777-300s.

The KSB Group is in the process of producing its biggest-ever symmetric butterfly valves, with an inside diameter of 3500 mm. The valves are destined for Ras Laffan, Qatar, where they will be installed in the world’s biggest cooling system and have to handle some 300,000 m³ of water every hour.

During a recent visit and post award meeting by the Director General and Board of Directors of Royal Irrigation Department (RID) of Thailand to Flowserve Pump Division facilities in Taneytown, Maryland, Flowserve was informed of a new project in Thailand that will require vertical turbine (Taneytown and Santa Clara, California facilities) and concrete volute (Hengelo, Netherlands facility) pumps on effluent and storm water service, respectively.
