North Yorkshire County Council recently called on the expertise of ITT Flygt to maintain water levels at Scorton, a lake located adjacent to Scorton Quarry in North Yorkshire.

ITT Flygt Canada announced the signing of a multi-million dollar contract to supply a complete installed package of 14 pumping stations, accessories, controls, etc. with engineering company Dessau-Soprin, Montreal for the Venezuelan Ministry of the Environment around the city of Barcelona in Northeast Venezuela.

China is the power station market with the strongest growth in the world. The pump and valve manufacturer KSB is currently benefiting from the rising economic power’s hunger for energy. In the first half of 2005, the company received orders for equipping new plants in the amount of € 60 million.

In July of this year, KSB Aktiengesellschaft Frankenthal (Germany) will supply twenty-three pumps for a drilling platform in the “De Ruyter” oil field. Canada’s biggest oil producer is having the 12,500 t platform built in the Netherlands and is planning to moor it to the seabed at a depth of 35 metres some 60 km to the north-west of The Hague in the summer of 2006.

Dewatering is one of the key areas in the new ABS strategy, in which ABS moves its focus from being a pump supplier to offering more of the company’s extensive dewatering application know-how. This new focus means increased availability, expanded product portfolio and a further developed service and rental concept.

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation’s aerospace business has been awarded a five-year extension by Continental Airlines to a 10-year cost per flight hour (CPH) retrofit and maintenance program.
