Northstar Aerospace Sells Corporacion EG and Ruhrpumpen

Northstar Aerospace announced the sale of the common share interest in the pump operations to the joint venture partner, which closed on March 31, 2003. This transaction will allow Northstar to concentrate on its aerospace business and will allow the management of Corporacion EG, Ruhrpumpen and its subsidiaries to continue to focus on their development of the worldwide pump business.

ITT Industries Acquires Uniservice Wellpoint

ITT Industries, Inc., announced today that it has acquired the business and assets of pump manufacturer Uniservice Wellpoint Srl. Based in Italy, Uniservice Wellpoint produces a range of high quality diesel and electric powered, vacuum primed centrifugal pumps, along with spear or well point dewatering systems for the rental market and sale.

    Teikoku USA announced the purchase all of the assets (less real estate) of the Chempump Division of the Crane Corporation effective March 1, 2003. Chempump manufactures canned motor pumps primarily for use in the chemical processing industry.

    MTU and Sulzer Metco sign engine program partnership agreement

    MTU Aero Engines GmbH, a DaimlerChrysler subsidiary, and Eldim B.V., a Sulzer Metco company, inked a strategic GP7000 partnership agreement, according to which Eldim takes a roughly 1% stake of the GP7000 engine in MTU’s workshare. MTU’s role in the engine to power the Airbus A380 mega-transport amounts to 22.5%. MTU partners with General Electric and Pratt & Whitney in the emerging GP7000.

    Wilo acquires EMU Unterwasserpumpen group

    By 1 January 2003, the Wilo AG, based in Dortmund, Germany, having effected a turnover of 535 million Euro in 2001 and being one of the market leaders in developing pumps and pump systems for building services engineering, acquires the EMU Unterwasserpumpen group, located in Hof, Germany.

    The acquisition will strengthen Wilo’s market position in sectors which boast of very quick economic growth.
