Xylem Announces Executive Leadership Appointments

Xylem announced two significant leadership appointments, which are effective October 1, 2015.

Colin Sabol has been named Senior Vice President and President, Analytics and Treatment. In this role, he will lead the global operations of these two business divisions. Xylem’s market-leading analytics brands deliver precise measurement for water and wastewater, environmental, and multiple industrial applications, and the Company’s treatment business provides integrated solutions that enable the reuse of water and wastewater. Mr. Sabol most recently served as Senior Vice President and President, Dewatering for the Company. He will continue to serve on the Company’s Senior Leadership Team and report to Xylem President and CEO Patrick Decker. He will operate out of the corporate headquarters in Rye Brook, N.Y. Mr. Sabol replaces Chris McIntire, who has accepted a position outside the Company. He will remain at the Company through the end of the month to ensure a smooth transition.

David Flinton, currently Vice President, Marketing and Engineering for the Company’s Applied Water Systems division, has been promoted to Senior Vice President and President, Dewatering, where he will be responsible for all aspects of Xylem’s dewatering operations globally, including strategy, sales and marketing, product development, manufacturing, and supply chain. Xylem is a leader in delivering reliable portable pumps for dewatering, bypass and drainage applications through both rentals and sales. In this role, Mr. Flinton will also be a member of the Xylem Senior Leadership Team and report to Mr. Decker. He will operate out of the Dewatering headquarters in Bridgeport, N.J.

Both of these executives will play key roles in helping us advance Xylem’s strategic priorities.”

Mr. Decker continued, “Chris McIntire has made significant contributions to our analytics and treatment businesses during his tenure and we wish him the best as he moves on to a new opportunity.”

Colin Sabol, 48, was named Senior Vice President and President of Xylem’s Dewatering business in 2013, where he led the global operations of the division including strategy, sales and marketing, product development, manufacturing, and supply chain. He previously served as Chief Strategy and Growth Officer of Xylem, a position he was named to when the company was formed from the spinoff of the water businesses of ITT Corporation in 2011. He joined ITT in 2006 as Vice President, Marketing and Business Development for Fluid and Motion Control. Before joining ITT, Mr. Sabol held a variety of managerial positions over 17 years at General Electric, including Chief Financial Officer for GE Energy Services and Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions for GE Corporate. He also led the acquisitions that became GE Water and served as Chief Marketing Officer of that business.

Mr. Sabol currently serves as Chairman of Xylem Watermark, Xylem’s corporate citizenship and social investment program. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in materials engineering from Alfred University in New York.

David Flinton, 44, was named Vice President, Engineering and Marketing for Xylem’s Applied Water Systems (AWS) division in 2013, where he was responsible for three AWS business units, as well as marketing communications, business intelligence, engineering services, innovation and technology, and e-business. Previously, he served as Vice President, Global Product Management for AWS and Vice President, Strategy and Business Planning for the Company’s former Water Solutions division in Sundbyberg, Sweden. He joined ITT in 1997 and spent 10 years in a series of increasingly responsible positions in the company’s Industrial Products group. Prior to joining the company, he held various engineering positions for Procter & Gamble and Werner Pump.

Mr. Flinton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass., and an MBA from the University of Rochester William E. Simon School of Business.
