Wilo closes motor production in Ireland

As announced at a company staff meeting Wilo plans to reduce the 98-strong workforce in the factory of Limerick (Ireland) by 85 workers.

The Wilo Pumps plant which is based at the Raheen Industrial Parkin has been in operation for 23 years. The company has confirmed that the job cuts will take effect from Friday January 24 with the closure of its motor section.

Wilo Pumps manufactures industrial pumps and motors for export to its sister companies in Germany, France, Korea and China. However, the news does not affect Wilo Engineering, the Irish sales subsidiary which has a staff of 12.
