Weir Roto-Jet VSR 2100 Pump Wins Technical Innovation of the Year Award From British Pump Manufacturers Association.

Weir Specialty Pumps, Salt Lake City, UT, manufacturer of market-leading Roto-Jet, Wemco Pump, Hydrogritter and Hidrostal brands, has been awarded the coveted Technical Innovation of the Year award for their recently introduced VSR 2100 (Variable Speed Roto-Jet) high pressure pump by the British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA). Each year, the BPMA honors the product that most successfully integrates leading technology with efficiency and performance in solving market needs.

The Roto-Jet VSR 2100 pump represents a significant and exciting development in high-pressure pumping. The pump has been mechanically integrated with a high-performance SR Drives® motor and controller. The resulting system is almost one-third the size of a conventional unit and eliminates gearboxes, couplings and the need for field alignment. The VSR 2100 pump has variable speed performance providing automated control without using a variable frequency drive. The variable speed performance can provide significant energy savings.

In accepting the award for Weir Specialty Pumps, Industrial Markets Sales Director, Steve Osborn said, "It is a great honor for our company to be selected for this Technical Innovation Award by our peers and receive this recognition from the British Pump Manufacturers Association."

Commenting in Salt Lake City, Weir Specialty Pumps, President, Joseph Roark, said, "The BPMA award is a wonderful achievement for Weir Specialty Pumps, our Weir Clear Liquid Division and our parent company, the Weir Group PLC. The VSR 2100 development represents a great deal of ingenious work and dedication from our entire organization, as well as our motor partner, Switch Reluctance Drives Ltd. Roark went on to say, "We feel the real winners will be our customers. Weir Specialty Pumps and Weir Group PLC, in general, continue to invest significantly in R&D to achieve recognizable breakthroughs in new products to solve real problems and reduce total cost of ownership. Weir continues to spend heavily in new products that will be equally beneficial to our customers."
