Weir Appoints Group Finance Director Designate

The Weir Group PLC announces the appointment of Chris Rickard to the position of Group Finance Director Designate.

Chris Rickard (46), currently Group Finance Director of Meggitt plc, the international aerospace and electronics group, will join Weir as an executive director on 19 January 2004. Later in the year he will take over from Group Finance Director, Ian Boyd, who will retire after 35 years with the Group. Chris was previously director of corporate finance for Elementis PLC and director of group financial planning for The Morgan Crucible Co PLC.

Weir Group Chief Executive, Mark Selway, said "Chris comes to Weir with the extensive experience required as we continue with our ambitious programme to achieve world class standards across the Group, providing shareholder value in the process.

"Ian Boyd has played a major role in the successful growth and development of Weir in his 22 years as Group Finance Director and in guiding the business to its current strong financial position."

There is no information to be disclosed under the requirements of the Listing Rule 16.4 in relation to this appointment.

BPMA Welcomes its New President

Lee Tebbatt, Managing Director of Wilo UK has been announced as the new President of the British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA), following a two-year tenure in the role of Vice President. The position was officially passed on during the BPMA’s Annual General Meeting and follows the two-year term in office by the previous President, Dale Croker, Managing Director of KSB UK.
