Water Pump and Motor Range Purchased

16.12.2003

The Water Hydraulics Company (TWHC) in Hull has been successful in purchasing the range of products manufactured under the “Pure” brand name from the SPX Fluid Power division.

The products consist of the largest range of hydraulic pumps and motors of their type from 3cc/rev to 225cc/rev, operating on tap water without any further fluid additive as the hydraulic medium.

Tony Markham the MD of TWHC believes it was important that the range developed by JH Fenner with the assistance of DTI funding remained in the UK where it originated. After such a large investment by UK industry reported to be in excess of £6.2 million, it is important that now the technology is maturing, the benefit of the extensive research is seen by UK industry.

Acting as the UK distributor for the range over the past 2 years, TWHC have identified encouraging change in the lip service formally extended to “green” issues, is now turning into real pressure for the more environmentally friendly option to be taken seriously. Legislation is also assisting in adjusting the mind set of engineers and system users to investigate the alternative.

Allied to the new range of Janus Control Valves launched earlier this year the company can now offer a comprehensive range of water compatible products. The cost reduction offered by the range of valves reduces the overall system cost to a more competitive bracket.

The focus of the company will be to continue to reduce the decreasing price gap between standard oil hydraulic equipment and the water alternative bringing the product into more mainstream applications and usage.
