Wastewater Technology as ABS Core Business

18.02.2005

ABS highlights wastewater technology as its core business, introducing a new, targeted organisation based on know-how and application expertise. “ABS offers complete solutions for wastewater applications, integrated with services and extensive process knowledge”, says ABS President Peter Aru.

Additionally, ABS is a major player in the dewatering and pulp & paper markets.

Building on its long tradition in wastewater pumps and mixers, ABS has broadened its scope into a complete offering for treatment applications by including expertise in aeration technology, compressors and control & monitoring. Adding a comprehensive range of services, customers get access to decades of wastewater technology experience.

“From now on we will present our complete offer under the common brand ABS, and approach the market as one organisation” says Peter Aru. “Customers will benefit by obtaining complete process solutions and knowledge from one corporation, when companies like Nopon will be fully integrated into the ABS organisation”.

“Additionally, the new regional world-wide sales organisation set up last year has given positive effects in getting even closer to the market, combining global presence with local strength” says Aru. “We will now continue building our knowledge base together with our customers, facing new challenges every day. We see that our investments into research, development and long-term partnerships has gained trust and resulted in improved value over time for our customers”.

Also a major player in Dewatering and Pulp & Paper

In dewatering, ABS will continue to build on its position in the construction and mining industry. “By introducing a new targeted dewatering organisation, we intend to continue growing our presence in the dewatering market, offering application knowledge, high availability and professional services”, says Peter Aru.

For the pulp & paper market, ABS established in January this year a new border-less key account organisation, ABS Scanpump AB, and re-introduced its well-established brand Scanpump.

”The new, focused pulp & paper organisation offers extensive global application knowledge in combination with a strong portfolio of products and services”, says Aru. “Offering process pumps and agitators along with complete equipment for industrial effluent handling, makes us a unique solution provider in this market. Pulp & paper customers will also benefit from a new state-of-the-art manufacturing and delivery service that we are setting up in Sweden, to be in full operation by mid-year 2005”.

ABS is a global solution provider in wastewater technology with a complete product portfolio of pumps, mixers, aerators, compressors, control and monitoring equipment, and services. ABS also offers pumps and rental services for the dewatering market, as well as solutions for pulp & paper applications under the brand name Scanpump. The ABS Group, with 2.200 employees and a turnover 2003 of 2.9 billion SEK, is present in more than 100 countries and has around 40 subsidiaries.

The ABS Group is part of the Swedish stock listed CARDO Group.
