Wasser Berlin International Strengthens Its Image

Wasser Berlin International, the meeting place of water industry experts, is strengthening its image. The trade fair for water and wastewater, which takes place from 23 to 26 April 2013, has developed a concept that takes the changing situation in the water industry into account.

Wasser Berlin International Strengthens Its Image

Wasser Berlin International 2013 from 23 to 26 April

It is the only industry event that focuses on the water industry’s entire economic cycle as well as on areas that cross over into neighbouring sectors.

The trade fair in the capital is attracting increasing international attendance. One-third of exhibitors and one-third of trade visitors at the last event were from abroad, reflecting the changes the water industry faces due to the effects of globalisation. The global nature of new international laws, the demographic shift, world population growth and climate change all raise questions and demand comprehensive solutions.

Water represents a global market. That is why, in a changing environment, water industry companies must increasingly adapt, and that is where Wasser Berlin International provides support and delivers the necessary answers to all the issues under discussion.

Cornelia Wolff von der Sahl, project manager of Wasser Berlin International: “We are pursuing a 360-degree approach. With its comprehensive overview of the water market Wasser Berlin International shows exhibitors and trade visitors the impact the system has on their company and vice-versa. Even if the overall situation differs from one region to another in the world the basic principles remain the same everywhere. The aim of our exhibitors is to show international audiences that their products and solutions can be used to develop systems that meet all kinds of requirements, regardless of where and under what conditions.“

Part of the new concept is the inclusion of five competence centres which will examine key topics and which will debut at Wasser Berlin International 2013. The goal of the competence centres is to focus exhibitor and trade visitors’ attention on specific themes and to highlight the key topics at the fair. These are Education and Research, Industrial Water, Innovation, IT in the Water Industry and Pipeline Construction.

The Education and Research competence centre is the meeting place for technology and science experts. The Industrial Water competence centre illustrates how important water is for processes in various industries and its connection with new, forward-looking areas of business. The Innovation competence centre focuses on new, up-and-coming enterprises and is the ideal venue to find potential business partners for future projects. Large-scale IT companies, specialist service providers and operators will be meeting in the IT in the Water Industry competence centre. The focus here is on the following topics: the current situation and future outlook regarding metering systems, W 406, smart metering and the liberalisation of metering regulations. No other venue can offer trade visitors such expertise and knowledge on pipeline construction as the Pipeline Construction competence centre. Every field of technology and all the companies and products from this sector are represented here. Topics include everything from conventional pipeline construction methods to trenchless technology, microtunnelling, horizontal hydraulic circulation drilling and sewer rehabilitation.
