Valve production certified under new directive

Late in November 2001, the valve factories of KSB Armaturen GmbH in Germany, France, Luxembourg and India were certified to meet the requirements laid down in the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). Accreditation was granted by the German TÜV (Association for Technical Supervision) and Lloyds Register.

As of 1 January 2002, all KSB, AMRI and SISTO products are supplied in accordance with PED requirements as a standard. Excluded from the scope of the PED are valves designed for use in water distribution or heating systems and nuclear power plants.

The various globe, gate and butterfly valve series concerned will be CE-marked as a visible sign of their PED conformity. By applying the CE symbol, the supplier confirms that the valves have been designed, manufactured, tested and documented in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations.
