Rupturing a pump cable is the most common cause of pump equipment failure, particularly in quarries and mines. The rugged conditions, lack of light and use of heavy machinery are the main causes of this. As excavation goes deeper and machinery gets bigger, the issue is increased.

Tsurumi, the world’s leading submersible pump manufacturer, is offering customers in Europe a heavy-duty pump cable option on its products that answers this growing problem.

The NSSHÖU cable is designed for a long life in extreme conditions. It is suitable for very high mechanical stress and has a tensile strength of 15 N/mm². It is well insulated and can withstand extreme heat and cold. The cable is Ozone resistant, which stops the formation of cracks, and is bright yellow to improve visibility. It is available for both three-phase and single-phase pumps.

“As the search for natural resources digs deeper and the quest for bigger buildings gets higher, we must adapt to ensure our product range evolves along with the market,” says Stefan Hörnschemeyer, Marketing Manager of Tsurumi Europe. “In recent months there has been a noticeable rise in requests for pumps with strengthened cables that can withstand the hardships of modern construction and mining. For almost 90 years Tsurumi has developed high quality pumping equipment that stands the test of time. Offering this cable as an option is the latest robust and reliable addition to our expanding range.”

The cable is designed for use in the mining, quarrying and construction industry. It is suitable for surface mining, quarries, stone pits and general construction.
