TECUMSEH, Mich., April 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tecumseh Products Company (Nasdaq: TECUA, TECUB) today announced the acquisition of the assets of Manufacturing Data Systems, Inc. (MDSI), including the MDSI name. MDSI will operate as a subsidiary of Tecumseh Products.

Manufacturing Data Systems, Inc. supplies Internet-enabled, open-

architecture software motion control applications that increase manufacturing

flexibility and enable agile manufacturing for the Computer Numerical Control

(CNC) and General Motion Control (GMC) markets. Unlike traditional hardware

or proprietary-based motion controls, MDSI's OpenCNC(R) software CNC uses no
