Extensive consultation with end users, original equipment manufacturers and maintenance personnel has been a key input in the product design. The result is a pump range that matches closely the needs of end users and original equipment manufacturers whilst offering major advantages in service and maintenance.

Available in one and two stage designs, versatility, interchangeability, cost effectiveness (both in operation and maintenance) and compliance with latest safety legislation have been key design criteria.

The SIHI LPH-X range is offered in three versions: 40/45000, 50/55000 and 60/65000, each available as a one or two stage design*. As vacuum pumps, the suction volumes are from 40 to 850 m³/hour with suction pressures from 33 to 1013 mbar. They are also offered as liquid ring compressors.

To ensure wide applicability the pumps are offered in both 50 Hz and 60 Hz and supplied in a variety of materials and sealing combinations and with universal flanges

Typical markets for SIHI LPH-X include the process industries (e.g. chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage production, plastics processing), electronics manufacture, health care and marine. Applications for the pump within these sectors vary considerably but include distillation, drying, degassing, filling, sterilisation and product transfer.

In addition, SIHI LPH-X has been certified as compliant with ATEX and is suitable for Category 1 (gas handling) and Category 2 (external environment of pump) applications without the need for flame arresters.

Low cost ownership is achieved:

• in operation through competitive pricing, modular construction and full interchangeability (both of pumps and key wear parts) with previous models in the LPHA range

• in service/maintenance through its seal accessibility, improved sealing technology and fewer seals, extended mean time between failure, cavitation protection, integral cross over pipe design and more robust bearings

To ensure consistent quality and reduced lead times, there has been significant investment in state of the art machine tools at the Itzehoe (North Germany) plant where SIHI LPH-X is made. The pump range has also been integrated into Sterlings’ RAPID software and eBusiness programmes to facilitate pump selection, pricing and ordering.
