Sta-Rite Industries Acquires Aermotor Pumps

MILWAUKEE, Apr 30, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Sta-Rite Industries, a subsidiary of Wisconsin Energy Corp. (NYSE: WEC), has acquired Aermotor Pumps, Inc. of Conway, Ark. from GSW, Inc. of Ontario, Canada. Aermotor manufactures a full line of water pumps and pump accessories for a variety of applications, including potable water, agriculture and irrigation, sump drainage, and sewage and effluent for the residential, industrial, commercial and mining markets. The company exports to over 20 countries and had sales last year of $50 million.

"This acquisition allows us to enhance our already broad existing product line of water systems products and is part of Wisconsin Energy's previously announced strategic growth initiative," said Jim Donnelly, president of WICOR Industries.

In addition to its operations in Arkansas, Aermotor has branch offices in Longwood, Fla.; Portland Ore.; and Waterloo, Ontario. The company will become part of Sta-Rite's Water Systems group.
