Southbank UK Appoints New Commercial Director

Southbank UK plc, the acquisitive niche engineering group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicholas Flanagan as Commercial Director.

Channel Island listed Southbank UK is focused on acquiring and developing engineering businesses that service the international power generation and oil and gas sectors. Its first acquisition in 2006 was of Luton-based Hayward Tyler Ltd, a leading manufacturer of pumps and motors for the power generation and oil and gas industries. In its latest figures, it reported revenues of £24.7million for Hayward Tyler with an order book of almost £50million – 80% of which is derived from overseas transactions.

Nicholas Flanagan joins Southbank UK from Jeyes Group Ltd, where he was Deputy Finance Director, having previously been Head of Corporate Finance at Kvaerner ASA, the international oil and gas services, construction and engineering company. Nick has a degree in Civil Engineering and qualified with Coopers & Lybrand.

Hayward Tyler recently completed the construction and testing of the world’s largest subsea motor for use on Statoil’s Tyrihans project in the North Sea.
