Servicing all the mechanical seals in the pumps at Esso Deutschland

18.02.2002

Leading seal manufacturer Burgmann Dichtungswerke GmbH & Co KG of Wolfratshausen/Germany concludes the “Mechanical Seal Alliance“ service agreement with Esso Deutschland GmbH, a subsidiary of the American ExxonMobil Group.

Under the terms of this fixed-charge contract, Burgmann will be responsible for servicing all the mechanical seals in the pumps at Esso Deutschland’s refinery in Ingolstadt, and its duties will include the provision and storage of seals and replacement components, repair work on mechanical seals of all brands, as well as the furnishing of on-the-spot technical support and advisory services.

Burgmann can now count on a wealth of experience from around 150 successful, internationally concluded service agreements. Such agreements reflect the fact that besides product characteristics, service behavior has increasingly gained significance as well, with customers not only expecting repairs, for example, but also a service spectrum embracing environmentally sound solutions, seal standardization, application trials, support in plant commissioning, repair and cost analyses, seminars on seal technology, as well as practical training. As with its products, Burgmann precisely tailors the concept to the specific requirements and ideas of each individual customer, using individual modules to develop a service package that ensures technical optimization and the reduction of maintenance costs at the same time.
