Sentry® Pulsation Dampeners Remove 99% of System Shock

04.05.2004

Positive Displacement pumps create pulsation and hydraulic shock due to the reciprocating nature of their stroking action, potentially damaging the entire pumping system. Blacoh’s SENTRY® Pulsation Dampeners remove virtually all system shock, enhancing ...

...all-around performance and reliability of fluid flow in process flow applications.

SENTRY Pulsation Dampeners use a compressed gas separated by a bladder from the process fluid like a shock absorber. During the pump’s discharge stroke, fluid pressure displaces the bladder, compressing the trapped gas. During the next cycle, fluid flow stops momentarily causing expansion of the compressed gas, forcing the bladder to push accumulated fluid back into the discharge line. This fills the void created by cycle shift and dampens pulsation up to 99%.

SENTRY Pulsation Dampeners also create steady and continuous flow for dosing, blending or proportioning and enable uniform application of material in spraying and coating systems. SENTRY ensures the accuracy, longevity, and repeatability of in-line meters and effectively reduces product agitation, foaming, splashing and product degradation.

SENTRY bodies and bladders are available in a full range of chemically resistant materials for all positive displacement pumps with discharge sizes from 1/8” to 6”. Models from stock offer pressure ranges up to 4000 PSI and with capacities up to 10 gallons. Custom models are available up to 100 gallons and 25,000 PSI.

A New “Revolution” in Pulsation Dampening

12.11.2004 -

Blacoh’s “Revolution” Pulsation Dampener was the first of its kind to feature threaded housings instead of metal fasteners, making it nearly impervious to the damaging effects of corrosive environments. Now, the innovation continues as standard PVC construction has been upgraded to CPVC. The benefits of this upgrade are significant.

Even Coverage in Spray Application

27.10.2004 -

Blacoh Fluid Control recently consulted with a decontamination facility that pumped acids through a series of 15° spray nozzles to rinse radiation from contaminated metals. However, the pulsating action of their reciprocating pumps caused uneven spray into the rinse tanks, and in many instances, the metals were not rinsed completely.
