Royal Irrigation of Thailand Visits Flowserve

22.11.2002

During a recent visit and post award meeting by the Director General and Board of Directors of Royal Irrigation Department (RID) of Thailand to Flowserve Pump Division facilities in Taneytown, Maryland, Flowserve was informed of a new project in Thailand that will require vertical turbine (Taneytown and Santa Clara, California facilities) and concrete volute (Hengelo, Netherlands facility) pumps on effluent and storm water service, respectively.

This project is one of several scheduled to advertise for bid as part of the governmental commitment to improved water quality.

Leading the RID delegation was Mr. Kitcha Polparsi, Director General, who manages all water resource activities in Thailand. Mr. Thanapol Choempraphai, Managing Director of Cisco Engineering Ltd. (Bangkok), Flowserve’s representative, and Colin Chua, Flowserve’s sales manager for Asia Pacific, have been instrumental in providing technical support for specifications to RID on this and other major environmental projects. According to Chuck Powers, Director Worldwide, Water Resource Front Line Team, Flowserve will be given the opportunity to bid these projects because of its century and a half of application experience and expertise plus its global support and service capability. Due to completion of previous projects, “RID has confidence in the reliability of our pumps and trust in our commitment to customer satisfaction, wherever and whenever it is needed,” he said.
