Robbins & Myers on the Move

06.02.2006

Progressing cavity pump specialists ROBBINS & MYERS UK have confirmed they are relocating their business to two new sites in the UK, a move which will consolidate their position as a leading force in progressing cavity pump technology.

Sales & marketing functions are moving to Chilworth Science Park, the University of Southampton centre for business excellence, which is recognised as one of the top science and technology led universities in the UK.

At the same time the manufacturing, servicing and spare parts operation for the Robbins & Myers Moyno pump range, is moving from the current location in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire, to Bolton in Lancashire. This site already houses sister company Chemical Reactor Services (C-R-S), specialists in the servicing and refurbishment of glass-lined reactor vessels and the manufacture of PTFE gaskets and seals.

The move of these activities to the north of the UK ensures that Robbins & Myers resources are better situated to meet the needs of the majority of their clients who operate in the key chemical, processing and pharmaceutical industries.

The hi-tech environment of the Chilworth Science Park provides Robbins & Myers with direct access to a wide range of the latest research, development and testing facilities, while the new Bolton facility provides an opportunity for investment in the future growth of manufacturing and servicing.

Commenting on the move, David Lee, Operations Manager of Robbins & Myers UK, said, ‘These two new locations offer important benefits to our customers, the facilities at the Chilworth Science Park provide additional research, development and technical resources and first class conferencing facilities, whilst our new facility in Bolton significantly strengthens our manufacturing capability’. He continued, ‘The Bolton facility also means we have 10 service engineers in closer proximity to our customers and end-users, providing them with on-site servicing and repairs to all makes of pumps’. David confirmed, ‘Our intention is to have the Southern office operational by 1st March 2006 and the Northern Production and Servicing Centre operational by 3rd April 2006’.
