VSX is presenting a mobile application for the pump selection system Spaix at this year’s exhibition within the scope of the Pump Users International Forum taking place in Dusseldorf, Germany. The app complements the multi-platform concept of Spaix 4 Pumps and will be available for productive use together with the official market release of the pump selection system for Windows and Web.

After 4 years, on September 27, 2012 the Pump Users International Forum is opening its gates again. For the second time, it takes place within the scope of the International Rotating Equipment Conference and offers again a platform for the exchange of experiences and presentation of latest product innovations.

Besides exclusive insights to Spaix 4 Pumps, the latest version of the well-known software solution for selection, configuration and sales of centrifugal pumps for Windows and Web, VSX is also presenting an application for mobile devices using the operating system iOS. Spaix 4 Mobile provides the essential functionality of the standard version and can be used with iPhone® and iPad®. “With Spaix 4 VSX is expanding its multi-platform concept by native applications for mobile devices”, Managing Director Jens-Uwe Vogel explains. “Due to this concept users get the possibility to access a unique database via different devices corresponding to a certain situation and infrastructure. Thus, the desktop application is the perfect solution if no reliable Internet connection is available. A crucial advantage of the web version is the use in Internet browsers without the need of a program installation. Spaix 4 Mobile assembles another piece to the puzzle which is - in its entirety - unique on the market.”

As known from other Spaix versions the user can choose between different selection methods: Hydraulic Selection, Product Selection Browser and Product Search by item name or number. Thus, the fast access on pump data on the go is guaranteed. The program displays the performance curves, dimensions as well as a detailed product description for the selected pump. The integrated Product Configurator allows for the selection from available options. Selected pumps are listed and administrated in the project overview. Usually, the project is saved in the project database. Thus, it is also available for editing with the Spaix web-based version.

The mobile solution is especially suitable for the use on the go, for instance on business trips, at trade fairs or for situations in which a fast solution for a certain application case is needed. Moreover, a project can be basically created with the app and − thanks to the shared database − further edited and concretized by a colleague who uses the web-based version.

At the VSX booth (#C5) at the Pump Users International Forum at the end of September interested attendees get first insights to the new mobile application Spaix 4 Mobile. In early 2013 the app will be available as perfect addition to Spaix 4 Pumps.
