Pump Retrofits in Egypt

30.05.2001

The Egyptian Ministry of Public Works and Water Resources has awarded Sulzer Pumps in Winterthur (CH) a contract for the retrofit of 28 water pumps which are operating in six pump stations on the Nile.

The pumps have already reached a princely age; they were delivered also from Sulzer in 1931 and 1933. Nevertheless, they are still in such good condition that it would be better to retrofit these machines than to replace them. The contract valued at 8.5 million CHF is to be completed by spring 2002. Sulzer Pumps has already completed a series of overhaul contracts for Egyptian pump stations.
