Planned Change on the Georg Fischer Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Georg Fischer AG has decided, within the framework of its personnel planning, to propose Jasmin Staiblin for election by the shareholders as a new member of the Board to replace Gertrud Höhler, who on reaching the retirement age will step down at the 2011 Annual General Meeting.

Jasmin Staiblin, a German citizen, was born in 1970. She studied electrical engineering and physics at the Technical University in Karlsruhe, Germany and at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. She holds a degree in electrical engineering as well as a degree in physics.

Jasmin Staiblin was appointed Country Manager of ABB Switzerland on 1 March 2006. After her double-degree studies, she began her career at the ABB Corporate Research Center in Baden- Dättwil, Switzerland, in 1997 and later completed the trainee programme of ABB Switzerland. She subsequently gained international experience in sales and marketing and in product management at ABB. She lived and worked in Sweden and Australia and was closely involved in the business in both China and the Middle East. At ABB Switzerland, she worked as sales, key account and product manager in high-voltage technology. In 2000, Jasmin Staiblin moved to the ABB Headquarters and joined the global business unit for Medium Voltage Products, where she was responsible for the product portfolio and management of the various distribution channels. She later headed the Marketing and Sales unit of the global Power Technologies Division.

Jasmin Staiblin has an excellent network in Swiss business as a member of the Executive Committee of Swissmem and the Executive Board of economiesuisse. In Jasmin Staiblin the Board of Directors is proposing to shareholders a young entrepreneurial personality who has outstanding international managerial experience in the industrial sector and is a perfect fit for the Georg Fischer Board. The election of Jasmin Staiblin is planned for the next Annual General Meeting of Georg Fischer AG on 23 March 2011.

Change in the Executive Committee of GF

GF and Joost Geginat, President of GF Piping Systems and member of the GF Executive Committee, have mutually agreed that Joost Geginat will take on a new role within the Corporation and therefore step down from his position with immediate effect. GF CEO Andreas Müller will take over the management of GF Piping Systems on an interim basis.
