Pentair Reorganizes Water Group to Facilitate Growth Strategy

ST. PAUL, Minn., Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Pentair (NYSE: PNR) today

announced the reorganization of its Water Technologies segment into four

geographic sectors structured to more efficiently manage the group's rapidly

growing global business.

Richard J. Cathcart, president and chief operating officer of the Water

Technologies segment, said that, effective March 1, 2001, the water business

will comprise Pentair Water Americas, Pentair Water Europe, Pentair Water

Asia, and Pentair Water India.

"Our water business has grown at a compound annual rate of nearly

50 percent in the past five years, and we are dedicated to strengthening our

organization and increasing our focused approach to growth opportunities

around the world," Cathcart said.

As part of the reorganization, Michael V. Schrock has been promoted to

president of Pentair Water Products Americas. Schrock joined Pentair in March

1998 as vice president and general manager for the Aurora and Fairbanks Morse

brands and facilities. He also held international sales responsibility for

the Pentair Pump Group. In January 1999, he was named president of the pump

and pool division. Prior to joining Pentair, Schrock was employed by

Honeywell for 21 years, most recently as vice president and general manager of

Honeywell's worldwide Energy and Environmental Solutions business. During his

employment with Honeywell, he also served in executive positions with

responsibility for business in Western Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
