Pentair Names New General Counsel
Pentair announced that Angela Lageson has been named senior vice president, general counsel and secretary succeeding Louis Ainsworth who announced his plan to retire in mid 2010.
Lageson,previously assistant general counsel at Pentair, brings a significant track record of achievement during her seven years with the company. She has provided primary legal support on many Pentair acquisitions and divestitures, including leading the structuring of the Pentair Residential Filtration joint venture. During her tenure, she has provided legal support to each of Pentair s global business units. In addition, Lageson has provided leadership on Board governance, corporate citizenship and compliance initiatives.
Previously, Lageson was a partner in the law firm of Henson & Efron, P.A. She graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School and summa cum laude from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., where she earned bachelor of arts degrees in English and German.
Throughout his 13-year career at Pentair, Ainsworth has been an important part of Pentair s senior leadership team. He was named Pentair s first general counsel in 1997 and has been instrumental in building a high performing legal team. Throughout his tenure, he played a key leadership role in Pentair s mergers and acquisitions agenda, including executing Pentair s significant portfolio transformations. He was the recipient of the 2009 Murray J. Harpole Leadership Award, one of Pentair s highest honors.
Prior to joining Pentair, Ainsworth was a partner with the law firm of Henson & Efron, P.A. for many years.
