Pentair Names Leslie Abi-Karam to Board of Directors
Pentair, Inc. announced yesterday that it has named Leslie Abi-Karam to a seat on its board of directors. Ms. Abi-Karam will stand for election at Pentair's annual meeting of shareholder in May 2008.
Ms. Abi-Karam, 49, is an executive vice president at Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) and president of Mailing Solutions Management. In this role, she has responsibility for all mailing products and services in North and South America. Earlier, Ms. Abi-Karam led the Pitney Bowes' Document Messaging Technologies business, where she transformed the business to encompass both the digital and physical worlds, improving customer communications at every touchpoint. She also led the expansion of Pitney Bowes' software business through two of the company's largest acquisitions in that space. She began her career at Pitney Bowes in 1984 as an engineer and went on to hold a number of progressively responsible positions in addition to those above.
Ms. Abi-Karam earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Bridgeport and holds a Bachelors of Science degree in industrial engineering from Northeastern University, where she is a trustee of the Corporation.
