New Training Centre for Pump Automation Products

November 2008: Opening of the new training centre for pump automation products of KSB Aktiengesellschaft, Frankenthal, Germany.

Those attending the training centre will not only gain insight into the fundamental theoretical principles of electric drive and control technology for centrifugal pumps. They will also receive relevant training in using variable speed pumps, as well as practical tips for their application. This should facilitate the proper planning, optimal selection and installation as well as the efficient operation of pumps and systems.

In order to familiarise users with the automation products, staff at the KSB TrainingCenter have developed seminars offering much more hands-on experience than was previously the case. Participants can work with real open-loop or closed-loop functional models and experimental stations and are able to experience the benefits of speed control first hand. They also have the opportunity to try out for themselves all the functionalities of the current level control units on a waste water collecting tank with submersible motor pumps.

As well as the work on complete pump circuits, the training centre also offers the opportunity to carry out practical exercises on laboratory benches. These include, for instance, the electric cabling for the sensor and instrument equipment of a variety of automation products as well as their parameterisation. In addition, one can practice switching field bus modules with a variety of functionalities.
