New Strategy for PUMPEX

17.01.2005

ABS and PUMPEX wastewater pumps will be merged, and offered in two versions under the common brand name ABS. In dewatering, the two separate product lines and product brands will remain as today.

Cardo Pump presents a new strategy for its PUMPEX operations. “By joining forces with ABS and merge the two organisations, we will be able to offer outstanding customer service” says Cardo Pump President Peter Aru.

One common product line in wastewater

“To be able to offer even better customer value, we have taken a strategic decision to integrate all wastewater related products and services under one organisation and one brand, ABS” says Cardo Pump President Peter Aru. “By merging the PUMPEX and ABS organisations, we develop our local network and strengthen our global presence”.

The two current product lines of submersible sewage pumps will be merged and offered in two versions – one for “high specification” applications and for “lower specification” projects. The “high spec” version will offer all main features of the existing PUMPEX range, as well the major benefits of the ABS wastewater pumps. The design release of the new combined product range will take place in spring, with production release by autumn 2005. The current PUMPEX wastewater pumps will continuously be available until December 2005.

The new product program will be offered to the market through one, common organisation, and the integration of PUMPEX’ sales organisation into ABS is now completed in all countries.

PUMPEX and ABS remain in dewatering

In dewatering, as opposed to the merger in wastewater, the two separate product lines PUMPEX and ABS will be further developed and continuously be available in the market. The PUMPEX dewatering product line will exclusively be promoted through distributors and international key accounts. The ABS product line and brand will be promoted through the ABS organisation and its sub-distributors, offering application knowledge, high availability and service.

“By maintaining the two product lines and product brands, along with a clear strategy in channel management, we intend to continue growing our presence in the dewatering market”, says Peter Aru.

Cardo Pump is one of Europe’s largest players in the field of wastewater applications with a product portfolio of pumps, mixers, aerators, compressors, control and monitoring equipment, and services. Cardo Pump also offers pumps and rental services for the dewatering market, as well as solutions for pulp & paper applications, including process pumps and agitators, and equipment for the industrial effluent. Cardo Pump is a business area within the Cardo group with 2.200 employees and a turnover 2003 of 2.9 billion SEK. The group is present in about 100 countries with around 40 subsidiaries.
