New Roto-Jet Pump to be Supplied to General Electric
Weir Specialty Pumps - part of Weir Clear Liquid Division – will supply two of their new VSR 2100 switch reluctance drive pumps to General Electric Power Systems, Houston, Texas.
The pumps will be used to provide water injection for NOx control on the new GE LMS100 gas turbine. Additional pumps will be supplied following testing for future production of LMS100 turbine.
The Roto-Jet VSR 2100 is an innovation in high pressure pumps, featuring the pump and the motor as one integral unit which can be run at virtually any speed. The footprint of the pump is considerably smaller by combining the pump and the motor into one unit. The control panel for the pump can be installed remotely from the pump and piping. This new pump eliminates the gearbox, couplings and starter and the need for field alignment. No cooling water is required for the motor or the controller. Superior pump reliability is achieved by the patented Roto-Jet hydraulic design providing energy efficient performance at lower rotational speeds.
Weir Specialty Pumps has been supplying the high pressure Roto-Jet pump line for industrial applications for over thirty years. Typical applications include food and beverage cleaning systems, reverse osmosis, NOx suppression, petrochemical/refining processing, high pressure paper shower, circuit board wash systems, water/process injection systems, boiler feed/cleaning systems, desuperheating/condensate return and many other applications.
