New Integrated Plant Control System
Armstrong Pumps Inc., a leading supplier of quality HVAC and fluid flow equipment for residential, commercial and industrial applications, announces the launch of a new integrated plant control system for chilled water plants, the IPC 11550 System.
The IPC 11550 System sets a new standard in the comfort cooling industry for:
- total plant efficiency levels through equipment sequencing,
- operator access and ease of operation, both web based and BMS,
- total chilled water plant management for system longevity.
The IPC 11550 System typically reduces chilled water plant power consumption by greater than 30% over today's variable speed "best in class" solutions. This ultra-efficient chilled water plant operation is achieved with the Hartman LOOPTM control methodologies for an "all-variable speed" plant configuration. The IPC 11550 System typically achieves efficiency levels well below 0.5 kW/ton, where as today's best-in-class chilled water plant systems typically achieve greater than 0.7 - 0.8 kW/ton efficiency levels using variable speed chillers (kW/ton on an annual average basis).
In addition to energy savings, this new control system provides the added benefits of reduced wear and tear on the equipment, lower noise levels, and reduced vibration.
The IPC 11550 system enables the operator simplified access and full control functionality from local, remote BMS, or remote Web-based connections. Either way, the user benefits from the IPC 11550 System's intelligent trending and analysis tools that help the operator pin-point potential equipment complications before they occur. This predictive maintenance approach will help ensure occupant comfort and minimize repair bills.
