New Hungarian Factory Adds to the Palette
Grundfos opens a new factory in Székesfehérvár in Hungary. The factory gathers multiple functions under one roof, making Grundfos capable of delivering even better solutions to the markets.

It is the fourth Grundfos-factory in Hungary that opened, in attendance was the Hungarian Prime minister, Viktor Orbán.
The 30,000 new square meters for production, research and development and new office space has been built to the newest, energy efficient principles, and excels by, among other things, having very low energy consumption.
"The expansion in Hungary is an important step in our efforts to make Grundfos an even bigger player within large pump solutions. We gather a range of specific competencies within development and production of products and solutions for the project market. This will give Grundfos a better possibility of fulfilling the needs from the market, which will emerge in the future", says Group Executive Vice President Lars Aagaard.
In the new factory, it will primarily be products for the Water Utility- and Waste Water-segments, which will be manufactured. Among other things, king size pumps for waste water handling. In addition, other new products and project sales, particularly focusing on products made to order, will be in focus.
The new facilities in Székesfehérvár will also be the home of the Development & Engineering function, the technology center and state-of-the-art tester facilities.
"Gathering several different areas of expertise, gives us new possibilities in our work. The knowledge, which lies within our D&E team, can be used in our production work, making us capable of manufacturing even better solutions for the market, and, in turn, supporting our sales organization", says László Török, General Manager of Grundfos’ Hungarian production company.
With the establishment of the new factory in Székesfehérvár, Grundfos now has two factories there and two in Tatabánya. Grundfos established its first factory in Hungary in 2000. The company employs roughly 2,150 people.
