New Head Corporate M&A at Merck

Merck KGaA announced that it has appointed Uta Kemmerich-Keil as head of Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions department. She replaced Axel-Sven Malkomes, who has been named managing director of Merck Austria.

Kemmerich-Keil currently is head of Global Financial Controlling for the Pharmaceuticals business sector and previously was responsible for Acquisitions Controlling. She has a degree in economics and joined Merck in 1999 from Hoechst AG, where she held various positions in auditing, finance and controlling.

The appointment is effective October 1, 2005. She will report to Jon Stonehouse, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.
