New Bell & Gossett Hydrotrol™ Flow Control Valve Prevents Zone Overheating

22.03.2001

Bell & Gossett has introduced Hydrotrol™, a new flow control valve designed to meet the demands of today's advanced hydronic heating systems. Preventing gravity circulation that leads to overheating of zones in hydronic heating systems, the Hydrotrol valve allows for summer-winter operation of an indirect water heater.

The compact, easy-to-install flow control valve allows fluid to pass when the system or zone pump(s) start. When the pump(s) are not operating, the Hydrotrol valve remains closed, effectively preventing zones (rooms) from overheating due to gravity circulation.

The HT valve can be installed in a vertical direction, saving installation time and material, and an elastomer seal provides positive shutoff, eliminating the need for an isolation valve. The compact, lightweight Hydrotrol also features a brass body, non-ferrous internal components and a 1/2 turn knob for easy system draining or valve bypass.
