New Anti-Heeling-Pump-Draft

07.10.2002

ALLWEILER AG, the oldest German pump manufacturer, presented at this years SMM in Hamburg the sectional view of a design-study for a completely new Anti-Heeling-Pump draft called ALLTRIMM.

ALLTRIMM is constructed as an Inline-propeller pump with reversible hydraulics. The special part is the drive, integrated in the pump hub which consists of standardised parts of a well known German electrical engine manufacturer. Therefor the previous installation of necessary valve controls involving great expenses is now obsolete. The aggregate needs only little space and low effort for installation Moreover there are less wear parts because no more extra groups such as couplings and gear boxes are need. Further advantages of the new draft : The pump direction reversal runs electrically on low strain and the small inertial moments allow short start up times.

To begin with, the realisation is planed as one- and two-stage constructions with a performance range of 400 – 1000 m3/h and conveyance heights of 10 m (one-stage) and up to 20 m (two-stage). Two motor sizes, 30 / 45 kW (at 50Hz) and 34 / 54 kW (at 60 Hz), cover these performance ranges. The fitting sizes are both identical. An intelligent modular system assures that the important parts of the one- and two-stage are absolutely identical. The identical and standardised parts guarantee an economical storage of spare parts. Two material constructions are planed to be offered for the pumps – sea water resistant aluminium-bronze and cast iron.

A registered trade mark has been applied for, first test runs have been successfully accomplished and a real environmental non-stop test has begun. The introduction to the market is planed for 2003.

In addition to ALLTRIMM the ALLWEILER AG also presented the new centrifugal pumps of the series MI and MA. With these pumps the efficiency, the NPSH-values and the weight have been considerably improved.

About Allweiler AG

Allweiler AG is the oldest German pump manufacturer (founded. 1860) and european leader on the market and in technology with centrifugal-, propeller-, screw-,eccentric spiral pumps, and macerators as well as peristaltic pumps. Allweiler AG owns its own foundry and constructs ready for use fuel installations. Since 1998 Allweiler AG is part of the Colfax Pump Group, that is the world wide leader in the manufacturing of pumps. With 1150 employees Allweiler AG reached in 2001 a turnover of 126,2 Mio. EUR (previous year 117,5 MEUR).

Chlorine Gas Systems: New Electric Safety Valve Makes the System Safer

13.12.2024 -

Chlorine gas plays a key role in the disinfection of drinking and industrial water. However, handling the chemical can pose considerable health risks – from irritation of the eyes to fatal pulmonary oedema. To further improve occupational safety during use, Lutz-Jesco has developed the VakuStop – a vacuum regulator for dosing systems that is equipped with an emergency stop function to prevent uncontrolled chlorine gas leaks directly at the chlorine gas tank in the event of an emergency.
