Neptune Series 500 Hydraulic Metering Pumps
Neptune Chemical Pump Co announced that all variations of its Series 500 hydraulic metering pumps have been designed to handle the demanding operating conditions present in all water cooling tower applications.
Neptune is able to make this claim because the construction of the Series 500 hydraulic metering pumps feature a Variable Oil By-pass stroke adjustment that allows better valve performance when compared to variable-linkage designs. This is possible since the valve checks have extra time to seat, even in heavy liquids, since they are idle during the by-pass portion of the suction and discharge strokes. Series 500 pumps are also the only pumps that feature EZE-CLEAN valves, whose cartridges can be removed for cleaning without disturbing the piping to the pump.
Series 500 pumps also are available with four automatic control options:
- Electric Stroke Control — Allows control automatically by a process instrument or manually from a remote location
- Pneumatic Stroke Control — Can be controlled by an instrument air signal to change stroke length.
- Variable Speed Control — Controlled automatically by a process instrument using a variable-speed drive to change pump-stroke speed.
- Sodium Hypochlorite Gas Bleed — A special head designed with an automatic air release valve to vent gas accumulation from chemicals that off gas, such as sodium hypochlorite.
