Morrison Pump Company Receives Order for Wastewater Treatment Plant Design-Build Project

Trials of a cutting-edge fats, oils and grease (FOG) Recovery Hub at Yorkshire Water’s wastewater treatment works in Hull, UK, are helping the utility improve environmental performance while lowering costs, says Chris Clemes, chief executive of engineering technology company EcoClarity.

Water shortages are already the cause of numerous conflicts around the world. As a result, it is not only the economical use of this vital resource that is coming more into focus. Companies are working flat out on new technologies that improve water purification. In this way, even industrial water can be turned back into safe and clean drinking water.

Filtering and reusing wastewater is becoming increasingly important in the context of environmental protection and resource conservation. However, to filter out even bacteria, viruses, microplastics, and other tiny contaminants, making the water safe for drinking again, more than just a conventional filter is needed.

Around 359 billion cubic meters of wastewater is produced globally each year. As well as municipal wastewater, a broad range of industrial processes produce wastewater, such as chemical manufacturing, food processing and powerplants.

The agreement, signed on 15 July 2024, formalizes the acquisition of the entire capital of Zenit International S.p.A., the holding company of Zenit Group, by Tsurumi Manufacturing co., LTD, a leading multinational company in the production and distribution of electric pumps based in Japan.

One sensor for all applications – regardless of the liquid involved – is no longer a pipe dream, thanks to the new radar liquid level sensors. This technology has universally proven its worth in practice over the last two years: in foaming, aggressive, cloudy or transparent liquid media, the radar sensors are able to measure the levels very accurately and reliably.
