Mono Underlines Links with Offshore Industry

02.09.2003

Mono Pumps is to underline its longstanding links with the offshore industry by appearing at this year's Offshore Europe exhibition in Aberdeen. The event will mark the company's first UK exhibition appearance alongside its new parent organisation, National Oilwell, who purchased the Mono Pumps business earlier this year.

No matter what the application, Mono can supply a solution designed to meet the demands of the offshore industry. From downhole systems, bulk transfer of drill cuttings and sub-surface equipment through to potable and waster water handling, waste and ballast transfer, solids control and multi-phase fluid transfer, Mono can provide the perfect combination of proven products and industry experience.

Mono recently confirmed that its products comply with the requirements of the new ATEX Directive 94/9/EC directive, making them suitable for use in hazardous areas, and it can also supply bespoke equipment designed for use in such applications.

An example of Mono's Industrial E Range progressing cavity pump, that incorporates the unique Flexishaft® drive principle, will be displayed on stand No. 1298. Designed to provide minimum whole-life cost of ownership, the E Range pump covers flows from 1m3/h up to 420m3/h, and discharge pressures up to 72 bar. The smooth rotating action of these pumps prevents emulsification of the pumped liquid mixtures and enables more efficient separation, thus making them ideally suited to many offshore applications.

Sharing the stand will be an example of Mono's B Range pumps, which combine outstanding value for money with compact construction and reliable performance. Among the key characteristics of the B Range pump are an excellent suction lift capability of over 8 metres, a positive displacement action well suited to process control uses, and a variable operating speed designed for accurate dosing applications. The 33 pumps in the B Range can handle capacities of up to 225m3/h and differential pressures up to 24 bar.

Information will also be available on other Mono products which are frequently selected for offshore applications. These include the widethroat W Range pumps, Mono downhole pumps, the vertical P Range pumps (designed for use in the narrow confines of rig legs) plus the TR and Series 'A' Munchers, which are used to provide effective protection for pump inlets and help ensure smooth, blockage-free operation.
