Lawrence D. Kingsley Named President and CEO of IDEX

IDEX announced that its chief operating officer, Lawrence D. (Larry) Kingsley, will become president and chief executive officer and, subject to election by shareholders, a director of the company effective March 22, 2005.

Kingsley will succeed Dennis K. Williams, who will remain IDEX's executive chairman through the later of March 31, 2006 or the date of the company's 2006 annual meeting, at which time he plans to retire from the company and its Board of Directors.

Commenting on the succession, Williams said, "Larry has been extraordinarily effective since joining the company last summer. He has a passion for excellence and a wealth of global operating experience and leadership ability. He has been instrumental in driving our corporate strategic development, operational excellence discipline, and product innovation initiatives. Larry's exceptional vision and management skills will ensure a smooth and successful transition as IDEX enters what I believe will be an exciting new era of growth for our company."

Kingsley said, "I am delighted to accept the opportunity to lead IDEX Corporation. Working with the leadership team and our increasingly global pump products, dispensing equipment and engineered products businesses, I am confident in our ability to maintain our company's entrepreneurial spirit as we build on our track record for delivering best-in-class products and services to our customers and enhanced value to IDEX shareholders."

Kingsley has been IDEX's chief operating officer since August 2004. Prior to joining IDEX, Kingsley progressed through a series of increasingly responsible operating positions at Danaher Corporation, including corporate vice president and group executive for the combined industrial controls and sensors businesses; president of the industrial controls group; and president, motion group - special purpose systems.

Prior to Danaher, Kingsley held several positions of increasing responsibility with Kollmorgen Corporation, including vice president and general manager for European operations of the industrial and commercial products division. Previous to Kollmorgen, Kingsley was vice president - marketing and sales for Weidmuller Incorporated, a subsidiary of C.A. Weidmuller, GmbH.

Kingsley holds an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from Clarkson University and an MBA from the College of William and Mary.
