KSB extends webshop
KSB offers its German customers the possibility to configure and order pumps on-line via the Internet. The configuration includes the complete hydraulic sizing as well as the selection of all design options.
The user is asked to choose the pumped medium and the operating point. After selecting a product type series, the pump size is chosen and configured. The customer's individual price is shown in a window.
Registered customers are shown their current net price on-line, and the configured pump can be immediately ordered. The orders are transmitted at once to the manufacturer's SAP R/3 system and after approval by the back office sales personnel they are directly communicated to the production planning system. The price display is continuously updated to reflect the current status of the configuration. The configurator is a part of the KSB-Web Shop, whose offerings also include approximately 3000 pumps and valves and 500 000 spare parts.
