ITT Industries Names Nick Hill Corporate Vice President and President, Motion & Flow Control

12.05.2004

ITT Industries, Inc. Board of Directors elected Nicholas P. (Nick) Hill to Vice President of the corporation and President of ITT's Motion & Flow Control unit, a group of businesses that manufactures engineered products for the automotive, leisure marine and aerospace markets with 2003 revenues of $992 million.

A 30-year veteran of ITT Industries and its predecessor company ITT Corp., Hill was most recently president of ITT's Jabsco Worldwide leisure marine business. Hill replaces Riccardo Trossi, who is retiring.

"Nick is an outstanding leader who has made a significant positive difference in every assignment he has undertaken during his long tenure with the company," said Lou Giuliano, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of ITT Industries. "His strategic thinking, combined with a thorough knowledge of lean manufacturing, has enabled him to grow businesses irrespective of prevailing market conditions."

Hill joined the company's Electronic Components business in 1973, serving in a number of marketing, sales and production management roles in the United Kingdom before being named Vice President and General Manager of ITT Industries Cannon - Europe in 1999. During an unprecedented market downturn, Hill managed to win new business by entering new markets and by exceeding customer expectations. He was named President of ITT's Jabsco Worldwide in 2003.

"Nick's track record at our Cannon and Jabsco units uniquely qualifies him to lead one of our most dynamic business segments," Giuliano said. "He succeeds Riccardo Trossi, who in 27 years with ITT set the standard for operational excellence, first as president of our friction materials business and ultimately as head of Motion & Flow Control. We will miss Riccardo, and wish him well in his retirement."

Hill earned a degree in Business Studies from the Farnborough College of Technology in 1975, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He is a certified Value-Based Six Sigma Green Belt, and was a 2003 recipient of ITT Industries' prestigious Chairman's Award for Operational Excellence. He won the company's highest award, the Harold S. Geneen Award, in 1998 for Unique Team Achievement.
